Simon and Martina of Eatyourkimchi.com had done a v-log several years ago about this place telling viewers that the owners wouldn't let them videotape inside. We went ahead and asked anyhow, and they agreed eagerly and told us we could photograph and tape whatever we wanted. I wonder if Simon and Martina's advice to boycott the place hurt their business since tourists were no longer coming, so they are now back pedalling and letting people film to their hearts' content. Or maybe there is just new management? At any rate, we took pictures and filmed, and had a grand old time. This place did not disappoint, either. It was a bit pricey and the portions weren't too large, but just being able to once again be in the filming location of one of our dramas turned us into giddy school girls. It was an added perk that the barista took us upstairs to the upper deck for some photos too! Overall, we had a great morning.
Directions to the Coffee Prince: Take subway line 2 and exit Hongik University. Take exit 7 out of the Hongik University station. When you exit the subway at the top of an escalator, you can either turn right and go into a park, or go out and left and follow a path down a long, grafitti lined path. Take the grafitti lined path. You will know you are on the right path because to your left is a business called I Wanna Chicken. When you get to the end of the grafitti lined path, turn right. This is a road. Stay on this road for about 200 meters. You will come to an intersection where you will see an eye glass business across the street on your right from where you are standing. At this intersection, turn left. This is the street where the Coffee Prince is. Follow this street all the way up to the almost end. Coffee Prince will be on your right.
