On a side note, getting to the Bukchon Hanok Village was more fun than actually being there. We got off at the Gyeongbokgung Palace subway stop, walked out the front gate of the palace, snuck across the street for a photo, (see below), snuck back across the street toward the palace, and turned the corner up towards the Hanok Village. Because it was so hot, we sat at the corner next to the palace under a tree and rested a bit and and saw the after effects of an automobile accident where the cops were getting in the face of the guy who was at fault. After our brief rest, we continued on up towards the village where we had a drink at the Jinsun Book Cafe. It was great! I know the Blue House was up that way as well, but we didn't have reservations, so we skipped that part of the area altogether.
What can I say about this place? Hmmmm. Well, it wasn't as bad a climb as it was getting to Naksan Park. There was a cute little book cafe super close by that served great mango smoothies. It was crowded as hell and we couldn't get any people-less pictures. It was a tourist trap. Bottom line: It is an overrated piece of Seoul that I wouldn't have felt bad skipping. I'm not sure how Teppy feels about this place. Maybe she loves it. At any rate, we are going to share some photos below along with a video from our super fav. book cafe.
