But that's all we do. Talk about it. Another thing we talk about is finding someone to sponsor us so we can go back and actually work......like to blog and take pictures for a website or organization. SIGN ME UP, I say! I work in the school system and get my summers off, so I can travel all June and July. If you know of anyone looking for someone to photograph Korea and blog about it, send them our way. Teppy and I are your girls. We are fun, fearless, and come with our own technology equipment!
If all else fails, we have plans to get back in the summer of 2016. Since neither of us can go next summer, we are planning ahead to the following summer. My son will be 15 at that point and Teppy's kids will be 13 and 11. The perfect age to take the kiddos to Korea. My son is currently 6'5. By the time we go in 2 years, he will more than likely be 6'7 or more. Since he is a basketball player, I have secret dreams that after college, he will go play basketball in S. Korea professionally and marry a S. Korean girl so I have a reason to go to Seoul quite often...and hey!!...I almost forgot....I'd get to wear a hanbok to their wedding!!! Ahhhhh, if only our kids didn't have their own dreams.........but you never know!
During today's trip down memory lane, I found so many more photos and videos of our trip that I haven't yet shared on this blog! I have so much more to write about, so I will be sure to blog more sooner than later.
Let's see...currently, I had to cancel my Drama Fever subscription because my addiction to drama was becoming harmful to my health. That is not a lie. I was obsessed to the point that because I wasn't Korean, I became depressed. Sounds nuts, right? Yeah, well I retained enough of my sanity to know I was losing it and that the only way to save face and keep myself off meds and out of the looney bin was to quit watching dramas cold turkey. It's been a hard road, but I guess you can say I am a recovering k-drama addict now. I still love Korea, but if I start watching them, all hell breaks loose. Why I get depressed when they are feel-good romantic comedies is beyond my comprehension. I was already in Seoul and saw that real life is nothing like the dramas. It's just that I want them to be, and that disconnect is disturbing to my psyche . If you can figure out the crazy, let me know. Maybe there is a way to fix my head so I can start watching again.
Teppy, on the other hand, has been in Korean la-la land! She is still a regular viewer of dramas on Viki and Drama Fever. In addition, she signed herself up for Korean language lessons at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She already finished the fall classes and had the time of her life! Also, one of the families that she met from her daughter's school is hosting a S. Korean boy this year for school. Teppy took it upon herself to become his 2nd US mother and took him to his 1st Packer game a Lambeau Field 2 weeks ago. Now hold the phone. I am 42 years old and have never been to Lambeau. This kid is 15 and gets to go to Lambeau when he's been in the country only a few months? How is that fair? I'm really just joking....I think it's great! Teppy has her very own surrogate Korean child now and I truly hope they form a life-long bond so when we go back, someone can take me into one of those restaurants in Hongdae where you can fry your own meat....and also one of those tents set up on the side of the street where you can get soju and bowls of food.
